This macro contains the most basic of commands you need to afk:
The bold red items are what gets changed to work in your own macro. First let's analyze the /ui action toolbarSlotxx command. xx is replace by two numbers depending on which toolbar slot you want to click on.
Second let's talk about the pause command. /pause [seconds] The seconds can be any decimal representation of seconds. 0.3 simply means 3/10ths of a second.
Finally, the third element of the macro /macro [the name of the macro] Here we simply call the macro by it's name to ensure that it is continuously running. |
Below is an example of a completed attack macro. Don't use it as it could likely click away specials you don't want clicked. Also, note that there is more to it, it's just above the viewed part of the macro.

Now it's time to edit it!! Click on the floating button and select "Commands" from the menu -OR- Hit A if you have the default keymap ... then click on "Macro" in the command browser. The first attempt on this macro should only include one Slot to ensure everything is working. Let's presume we want to click a special in the second slot from the left on the top part of the toolbar. As seen in the picture, that would be toolbarSlot13. Let's build our first attempt at the macro and test it to ensure it is working (remembering capitalization and all. Macro Name: AFKHits /ui action toolbarSlot13; /pause 0.3; /macro AFKHits Pick an icon and save it by clicking OK.
It should look like the above picture (if you chose the same icon I did. Note that the name does not contain spaces or any other characters than letters or numbers.
Now let's test it! In the chat window type, /macro AFKHits and hit enter. You should see the second slot from the left on the top bar of your toolbar getting "clicked" every 1/3 of a second. If it is, now it's time to add other specials, heals, and non-spamming buffs to the macro. I would only add one additional slot at a time and test it, to ensure you are getting the correct slot and that it is being clicked. So, edit the macro and add two lines between the last pause and the /macro AFKHits command. /ui action toolbarSlot14; /pause 0.3; Now, keep building on it until you have all your special attacks, your buffs, and your heals included.
The only buffs I don't recommend putting in this macro would be hourly use items or things that generate a ton of spam, such as the ewok crossbow. They should be ran by a more strategic macro. The only difference between that macro and the attack macro would be different length pauses. For instance the ewok crossbow macro would look like: Name: EwokCB /ui action toolbarSlot10 /pause 240 /macro EwokCB This of course, presumes the crossbow is in toolbar slot 10 and you named the macro EwokCB. Auto-Join Now for the last step - when you are out at afkville, be sure you have /join in the macro at some point. That way you get auto-grouped if something should happen or you show up and the group is currently full. Once you get this macro up and running it's time for a couple more. |
