1. Contribute to the dpsEveryone has to pull their weight or the math fails. We depend on each other to contribute near 1K dps to keep this method working better for everyone than just the 4 people who used to sit on the bottom 4 spawns. (See AFK Macros). Trader/Beast Masters are welcome, but a flat out trader will have to give up their spot if another player comes out. I personally can not imagine bringing a trader out just to get in on the loot, but a trader who is trying to level a pet is welcome, equip that heavy weapon and chip in.
1B. Run an invite macroYou never know when you are going to be the lead of the group. Yeah, you may not want it, but if someone crashes or leaves the group you may randomly become the group lead. Yes, you can pass it off to someone else when you realize it, but in the meantime if you're not running invites the group is broken. The group will only work as long as people can get in, if people can't chaos will result. Check the Macro page to get it. It's simple, it's short and the system spam is worth keeping the group alive.
2. Help PullWhereas it's good for several of the people in the group to be running "/assist Marcc" (or another player who is pulling) macros, the group comes to a grinding halt if that player goes LD or wants to go play other aspects of the game.
As long as the group is over 4 players we can afford to pull from a couple sources at once. I especially encourage our pet and droid owners to pull. You'll want to give the pet a couple seconds to agro the target and then have them spend a second or so coming back to the group (follow). 3. Avoid Root or Snare attacksThat means no Light Saber Throw for our Jedi friends. I could list them all, but I honestly don't know every profession inside and out. We have to get the npc to the group in order to loot it. With a full group, the mobs are lucky to live to 8 seconds, so it is important to get the close asap.
4. If the group is full, be considerate and leave the group when out of the areaRemember, recently, if you ran off to drop loot and came back 5 minutes later with another person standing on a Sentry spawn it was gone. This code honestly still must apply or the group will be viewed as unfair to others who want to get a turn. The group should not be used to hold a spot at AFKVille. I agree that it doesn't seem overly friendly to those of us in the group, but what about the people waiting to get in? If there isn't anyone waiting, we'll be right back in. If there is, we are now having to wait our turn to get back in...just like we always have. There are a lot of cool people around and there is a chance someone will drop just so you can get back in.
If the group is not full, it should be cool if we put something in group chat to let the leader know we'll be right back. If more than 10 minutes goes by, however, the group leader reserves the right to kick us. If you go LD, there will always be a buffer chance that you'll get back online and still be in group. Anything longer, is truly just not appropriate. The group members at the POI are working with less dps and sharing loot out to us while we are gone. I do not foresee, nor do I wish for anyone to be an overlord draconian group leader who polices this policy and instantly kicks people for going LD, etc. We have to be as fair as we can to all involved. However, the true choice is not up to the group leader, but rather all the group members, who are willing to leave to let someone else in. With the past code in place, would you have been willing to give up the sentry spawn because another player was on it just a few minutes before? I know a few players that did, including myself on a couple occasions, but it wasn't always done with a big smile. Please don't stress the person who is acting as lead. Just leave the group and get back in as soon as you can. Also, if the group has a player that wants to farm on Dantooine, they may use the group size for spawn generation, but once the group is completely full and another person is waiting at the POI to get in, the perosn on Dantooine should relinquish their spot. I will set the results to be viewable in a couple days
5. Your loot is yoursYes, as a group we want to help each other out, however what you loot is yours. You decide what to do with it. If you want to give it to others in the group, that is awesome and appreciated. If you don't...good enough.
6. If you loot a 4/5 please let us know which kindThis is a humble request simply because I'd like to track how well this method works. Please, if you loot a 4/5 e-mail Marcc and tell me if it was a Meditation or Waist Pack. I'll add you to the list and add to the count of WP. Thanks!
